Camp Caterpillar Donation Form
Saturday, April 27, 2013
Thank you for making a donation to suport Camp Caterpillar, a free, one-day, professionally-led camp that is designed to help meet the needs of grieving children, teens, and adults. Conducted by Wellmont Hospice, Camp Caterpillar provides a safe, fun, and caring atmosphere to enable those who have experienced similar losses to come together, share their experiences, learn about the grief process, and learn about coping with grief. The camp is open to grade levels Pre-K – 12 and to adult caregivers of a child impacted by the death of a loved one. On average 35 children have attended each camp and are served by approximately 75 staff and volunteers (who act as “Camp Buddies” and are assigned to one or more camper for the day). Activities include arts/crafts, rock climbing, games, and a memorial butterfly release ceremony.
Overall there is approximately $225 of expenses per camper – you may want to consider a donation at that level or any other – all donations work together hand-in-hand to support our grieving children. Your contribution helps us to bring the best, most compassionate care to our patients in an environment that is close to home.
